Children Age 8-14

We use the Kids Can Sew & Fashion Design curriculum the #1 sewing program specially designed for teaching kids as young as 6 years old to sew. It has been used since 1983.  Thousands and thousands of kids have learned to sew with this easy to follow workbook and patterns.  The program workbook includes 7-9 months of projects and learning in each workbook level.

Students will learn to sew basic clothing items such as skirts, blouses, pants, and nightshirt.  They will also learn to use the basic pattern and alter it to design their own style.  This learning will be in a positive, encouraging environment where students progress at their own pace.  They will surprise themselves and you at how much creativity, individuality, and style will come out as they learn this wonderful life skill.

Second Year Students (8 projects)
After all the projects in the first year book are completed, we move on to the second year.  Fleece and knit fabrics are introduced.   Numerous new stitches are introduced, including top, stretch and baste.  Also added is ribbing, buttons, adding pockets and sleeves. 

Students are responsible for purchasing fabric and thread for their sewing projects.  Fabric for their 1st project and workbook are included in the registration fee.  One class session will be a trip to the fabric store.  You will receive advance notice as to when your student will need to purchase fabric for any additional projects.

Teens/Adults

WE TEACH YOU A SKILL... NOT JUST A PROJECT® 

The You Can Make It 'Learn to Sew' method of sewing is designed to teach you everything about sewing.  It is a seven level program which will build your sewing skills. You may join us at any Level, depending on your present sewing experience. The You Can Make It 'Learn to Sew' method will teach you a skill that you can use for a lifetime and enjoy yourself in the process. You will learn with the newest, most comprehensive & detailed methods.

We build skills in the correct progression! Teaching you: WHAT you should be taught, WHEN you should be taught and ALL you should be taught about sewing!

Level One:
If you have no sewing experience or need a refresher, this is the one for you!  We will start you off right showing you everything about: Patterns; choosing, sizing, & understanding. Guide Sheets, Tissues, Cutting, Marking, Sewing, Hemming and SO MUCH MORE.

Level Two:
If you have some sewing experience then this is the one for you!  With your basic knowledge, we will show you everything about: Print Fabrics, Altering Skirt Patterns, Darts, Pleats, Zippers, Waistbands, Velcro, Buttons, Straps, Hooks and SO MUCH MORE.

Students are responsible for purchasing patterns, fabric and thread for their sewing projects.  You will receive checklist prior to the class starting.

Classes are 2 hrs bi-weekly and will cover levels 1 & 2.  Stay tuned for start dates for additional levels.
