Welcome to AshTal Fashions Sewing Studio a home based sewing school located in Wilmington, DE where we are committed to helping children learn the art of sewing and designing.  Our philosophy is to instill confidence and independence through the joy and happiness that comes from learning to sew.  We instill this in our students by giving them ownership over their projects.  They make their own choices and learn from their mistakes. 

Sewing encourages independence and self esteem.  It also develops patience and perseverance, enhances problem solving, and other important life skills.  Students experience a sense of accomplishment with each completed project.

Students Will Learn:

• sewing machine skills
• basic sewing terms
• how to measure for pattern sizing
• how to read a pattern
• how to layout and cut pattern pieces
• about the right side & wrong side of fabric
• garment assembly
• how to use commercial patterns
